Pidyon HaBen at Night?

Question:

Can Pidyon HaBen (Redemption of a Firstborn son) be performed at night?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

In general there are two customs. The Ashkenazic custom is to wait and to make the Pidyon in the afternoon of the thirty first day after the birth. The Sefardic custom is to make the Pidyon at the first possible opportunity which would be on the night of the thirty first day.
