Stepping on Star of David

Question:

Can I wear shoes that have what looks like Star of David's everywhere on the bottom of the shoe? I don't want to seem like I'm stepping on the Jewish Star.

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

There is no Halachic issue with stepping on them (the Star of David does not have any intrinsic holiness) but if you feel uncomfortable doing so then perhaps it would be best for your own feelings if you didn't wear them.
