Setting Up the Chanukah Menorah

Growing up, I was told by my father that although we light the menorah from left to right, when setting up the oil and wicks, it should be done from right to left. What is the source for that?

While I don't know a source for this, when I was growing up I was taught that it was because of the rule of "Tadir v'Sheino Tadir, Tadir Kodem" – that whatever is normally done more often takes precedence while performing Miztvot.
