Meat in the Desert

Question:

Why did some of the Jews complain that there was no meat to eat in the desert (Numbers 11)? They could have eaten from the flocks and herds travelling with them!

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

There was absolutely no need for them to eat any of the meat that they had with them as they were fed the manna each day. The commentaries point out that their sin was not that they wanted meat but, rather, that they tested God by asking God to supply it for them.
