What is ruach hakodesh?

According to the Rabbis, Ruach HaKodesh is the last remnant of the original power of prophecy. It is nowhere near as clear and powerful as prophecy was but it is an indication that one can reach a spiritual level that allows one insights that are not really available to others. It has been clear throughout Jewish history that there are always certain individuals in each generation who have those abilities to guide and instruct us.
