Black Death

Question:

Is their any relation between Jewish Law and lifestyle and the fact that the Black Death didn't affect on a large scale the Jewish communities in Western Europe on a large scale?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

No, there is no real correlation. In fact, the Jewish communities were affected by the Black Plague similarly to the non-Jewish communities. However, the incidence of sickness might have been a bit lower among the Jewish communities because in medieval Europe the Jews were more hygienic than the non-Jews due to hand washing and ritual immersion.
