According to all opinions the mallard duck is Kosher. The muscovy is a little more complicated due to the fact that it does not seem to have a "mesorah" (a tradition) that it can be eaten like the mallard. That is why it can be found in certain communities and not in others. In all events, duck is only Kosher so long as it is slaughtered and Kashered according to Jewish Law.
