Fasting and travelling

Question:

I will be travelling tomorrow, the fast of the 17th of Tamuz. Am I permitted to eat tomorrow and fast another day because of the extenuating circumstances?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

One should not decide ahead of time that they are going to eat (unless there is a specific medical reason to do so). Rather, one should begin the fFast and try to complete it. If it is not possible to do so it is permissible to eat and drink in moderation and the fast does not have to be repaid at a later date.
