Challah

Question:

Is it imperative to have Challah for Shabbat dinner?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

No. There is absolutely no obligation to eat Challah on Shabbos - not at night or during the day. There is, however, an obligation to eat the meals with two whole loaves of bread. They can be rolls, pitot or anything else but they need to be whole when the Blessings are recited over them.
