Writing G-d’s Name

Question:

I’ve noticed that many people write G-d instead of God. Why?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

According to many Rabbis God's name, even when written in a foreign language, has an inherent holiness and subsequently the custom has evolved to abbreviate it in order to retain that sense of spirituality and not to "cheapen" the name of G-d.
