Man in God’s Image

Question:

What is your interpretation of man’s creation in the image of God?

AskTheRabbi.org answered:

The concept of being created in the image of God is a reference to the human soul. It is unique and no other dimension in the creation has it. The soul is what differentiates humans from the rest of creation since it is the only part of us that is infinite. It definitely does not mean that God has human-like attributes which is a concept that does not really make any physical sense as each person is different from the next.
