It is the date when the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount returned to Jewish possession on the 28th of the month of Iyar in 1967 during the Six-Day War. This date is also date of the passing of Samuel the Prophet who played a crucial role in determing Jerusalem to be the site of the Temple.
